Laurel and Hardy

comedy       straight man      funny man, clown

     Audience is laughing at themselves.

Driving force gets it done; one has to be driving force (Hardy), other guy leads into difficulty (Laurel).

Laurel and Hardy goofy, but basis in reality.

Underlying basic joke: blind leading the blind.

    In comedy:

    You need separate individuals.
     Contest of wills.
Someone has to be the straight man (Hardy). A person who the audience recognizes with. Then the other is the clown (Laurel).

Straight man can reverse anytime (Laurel) and then clown (Hardy).

"In the end, it can't look like acting."
